Realme is on the verge of unveiling two fresh smartphones at the beginning of next year as a continuation of its 16 series. The company has announced to launch Realme 16 Pro 5G and Realme 16 Pro+ 5G in India on January 6, 2026. Just before the official unveiling, a leak has come out regarding the expected price of the higher-end 16 Pro+ model.
According to the tipster Paras Guglani, the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G comes with a maximum retail price of Rs. 43,999. Although the price is based on unofficial sources, it gives a hint of a considerable increase in price concerning the previous generations. To illustrate, the Realme 14 Pro+ was released at Rs. 29,999, which means a significant price jump in just a couple of iterations.
Market analysts are of the opinion that Realme might resort to launch promotions, bank discounts, or similar offers that would eventually lead to the actual selling price being much lower. The 16 Pro+ would be the next high point in the range, unlike the Pro+ model of the 15 series that averaged out the price of the.
The leaks have pointed out that the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G will boast of a triple-camera system comprising a 200MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens. The performance is mostly backed by a Snapdragon chip, possibly an updated Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, as per Geekbench data.
On the design side, the Pro+ is likely to draw inspiration from 16 Pro in terms of looks and give customers the option of various colors including Master Gold, Camellia Pink, and Master Grey. The device will come pre-installed with Realme UI 7.0, based on Android 16, and will benefit from three years of Android updates and four years of security fixes. Also, the phone will come with AI capabilities such as the AI Edit Genie 2.0 tool.
The event on January 6 is likely to present a variety of products besides mobile phones. The company Realme has announced the simultaneous introduction of the Realme Buds Air 8 and the Realme Pad 3. It is also believed that all three items will be sold on Realme's official site and Flipkart shortly after the event.
The early price leak and specification spill are already pushing the Realme 16 Pro+ as a premium phone in the high-end segment of the brand's portfolio, thus preparing the way for a big entry into India's top-tier smartphone market.
